How long have you been with Bellissimo? I trained in the academy in 2013 and began working when I graduated.
Why did you choose to get into hairdressing/beauty? All my life I had a love for hair, it was always more of a hobby than anything else! When I left school I found myself looking for something to be passionate about. I went into Bellissimo out of the blue just to enquire, started 3 days later and haven’t left since! From day one I knew it was for me.
What aspect of hairdressing/beauty are you most passionate about? If I had to choose, I would probably have to say colour. I’m so grateful to my trainers for the theory knowledge that they have passed onto me! It has given me the power to take on anything that comes my way! I love getting creative and using new techniques to create new,on trend styles. In 2018, I completed the Wella Master Colour Expert Programme and graduated with a distinction. This means I’m a Master Colour Expert. This programme covers all technical areas in colour. This brought my colour knowledge and skills to the next level.
Who in the industry do you admire? Lisa Walker (Instagram – lisalovesbalayage). Lisa is someone I have followed through social media for a long time now and I love how she puts a huge focus on education and understanding the hair you are working on. She has a fantastic way of explaining things and making things clear to her followers. She has a huge following and loves to share information with other hairdressers.
Whose celebrity style do you admire? I am a huge lover of Khloe Kardashian. I think she is the prime example of how getting to blonde is a process! It just shows that even with her amount of money it was still done in stages. Also I love how even with her blonde she still keeps a soft root which is very on trend.
What is the favourite part of your job? My favourite part of my job has to be my clients. From regulars to new clients, nothing makes me happier at the end of the day than knowing I made people feel good about themselves! Often when we’re not feeling too glamorous, we get a new colour or a new style to pick ourselves up and I love that I can do that for people!
What is your favourite product to work with? I’m a huge fan of the curly blowdry and its something I would do a huge amount of! I like a product that’s light and flexible but still with sufficient hold to get days out your blowdry. Perfect Setting by Wella has to be my favourite, it’s normally used as a setting lotion but it’s perfect for a nice bouncy blowdry too.
